Don’t Miss Hon Thi Island When Visiting Nha Trang
Visitors to Nha Trang can visit Hon Thi Island on their way to Nha Phu Lagoon. If you bypass this garden island you will miss a lot.
Travelers are attracted to the beauty and pristine nature of this 500 hectare island. The mysteries of Mother Nature fascinate visitors to the island and allow them to experience them first hand.
About three kilometers from the land, Hon Thi is located about 3 kilometers from the mainland in Ninh Ich Commune, Ninh Hoa District, Khanh Hoa Province. You can to get to the island by boat from Da Chong Beach or Ninh Ich Commune.
When you show up there are herds of deer and flocks of ostrich which visitors can feed, play with and see them run around the island. The island also has lots of spectacular beaches with rock outcroppings. The beaches are home to sea plant life, as well as unique trees and flowers found elsewhere on the island.
While on the island, visitors will certainly see a number of orchards with many varieties of fruit such as sugar apple, guava, dragon fruit, coconut and orange.
Many fishermen and their families make the island their home. The island used to serve as a temporary shelter from the storms in the South China Sea.
In 1998 the locals erected a small shrine, devoted to the gods of the sea.
The beaches also offer visitors the opportunity to explore caves – be sure to bring a flashlight. There are limited visitor facilities, so be sure to bring food and drink for your day of exploring Hon Thi Island.
