Don’t Worry About the Cost of Living in Vietnam!
When people travel to Vietnam, they are often concerned about the “cost -of-living in Vietnam“. Why? They’re not moving there. There are only three items to be concerned about – transportation, hotels and food. And if you’re a “partier” – entertainment.
Transportation - Prices are cheap. Always negotiate transportation in advance - taxis, cyclos and motorbikes. Air and rail prices are fixed for the most part. Open Tour buses are cheap - about $40 from Saigon to Hanoi.
Hotels - Stay in family owned and run hotels.
The sky is the limit with international brand name hotels.
Food - Cheap in family owned restaurants.
Feel free to pay more at upscale restaurants.
Entertainment - Stick to "green street beer" in street front "bars".
These are popular meeting places for travelers and locals.
