The Dalanta Waterfall is located about 5 kilometers (3 miles) from Dalat city. Many travelers enjoy the falls as the water rushes over the rocks
Local legend says the falls offered shelter for local soldiers during the war with the Cham Empire to the west centuries in the past. The local Kho tribesmen called the falls – “Da-Tam-Nha” (Water under the leaves). The Vietnamese translation is “Dalanta”.
The hike from the top of the waterfall to the bottom takes 10 – 14 minutes or a 2 seater “roller coaster” ride can carry you down the 1 kilometer trip through the trees in about 2 minutes. The cliffs of “Death Canyon” offer adventurous travelers a chance to do some rock climbing and the “Fairy Stream” lets more relaxed tourists a chance to enjoy the slower running water.
