PHU QUOC ISLAND

Phu Quoc Island is about an hour’s flight from Saigon. Current airfare is about US$35.00 one-way. It’s also less than 10 miles from Cambodia. It’s about 30 miles (48 km) long by 17 miles (27 km) wide. Best known a beach destination for tourists, it is rapidly replacing other well traveled beach communities in Southeast Asia.

Enjoy river cruising, visiting famous “Phu Quoc Fish Sauce” factories and pepper plantations, jungle-trekking to the waterfall, take a boat trip to nearby islands for scuba diving, snorkeling or fishing, relax on an isolated beach, shop for local products at the market, or visit the whale museum.

Scuba and snorkeling are available to tourists after a 1/2 hour boat ride south to the An Thoi Islands. Warm water and coral reefs make the trip well worth while.

Phu Quoc Beaches should be considered as a destination to recover from jetlag when arriving in Vietnam or a couple days of “kick back” time after two or three weeks of touring of Vietnam. For the relaxation minded traveler Phu Quoc is a must.
