Bach Ma National Park
Bach Ma National Park is located in central Vietnam provinces of Quang Nam and Thua Thien, covering 37,500 hectares. Originally created in a bit smaller area in 1991, there park was expanded in 2008 to its present size. The park protects the last strip of forest between the South China Sea and the mountainous border with Lao. The dense jungle mountain region is home to many species of plants and animals. The jungle located at sea level gives way to semi-tropical forests at the altitude of about 1000 meters. The park serves as home to a high biodiversity of flora and fauna from both southern and northern Vietnam.
Bach Ma Mountain rises to an elevation of 1450 meters and is located 18 kilometers from the South China Sea.
Suggested itinerary from Hue (1.5 hour drive by car) or Danang/Hoi An (1 to 1.5 hours by car) locales.
Upon arrival in Bach Ma Travel Center take a short hike to the Bach Ma peak to enjoy the view of the park and its surroundings from the mountain top. Enjoy the Khe Su Garden Tour , the Pheasant Trail, the Rhododendron Trail, the Nature Exploration Trail, the Summit Trail, or the Five-Lakes-Cascade scene created by a small stream that flows from one lake to another – and, weather permitting, take a relaxing swim while enjoying the park. Hike to the beautiful Do Quyen Waterfall – 300 meters high and 20-30 meters wide. Arrange for accommodations in the park or continue your trip north or south. The overnight stay will provide an awesome sunrise over the South China Sea, if you’re not an early riser you can still enjoy a pleasant breakfast on the mountain before leaving.
Listen to the birds waking up as the sun rises over Bach Ma Park.
